PICVISA has supplied and installed an ECOPACK optical sorter to automatically sort and separate various types of materials, by composition and color, at the Alier paper production plant in Roselló (Lleida).
The company has supplied an ECOPACK EP-3000 NIR-RGB SBI model to this company specialized in the production of recycled paper for a polyethylene film sorting and recycling project.
ECOPACK FOR EFFICIENT MATERIAL SEPARATION
Thanks to the flexibility of the multispectral vision, the ECOPACK can be configured to make quick changes in the classification of new materials to be sorted that may arise in the incoming flow to be treated. ECOPACK sorters are designed to work on acceleration belts from 1m to 3m wide with different separation options (double bar or multitrack) according to the customer’s needs. The versatility, speed and precision in the identification and sorting of materials that they offer have positioned them as leaders in the sector.
A NEW PICVISA ECOPACK SUCCESS STORY
With the Roselló plant, PICVISA adds a new success case of its installed equipment. PICVISA’s equipment helps Alier to enhance its differential factor in the paper industry in which, with almost two centuries of history, has managed to establish a closed circle of production, collection and recovery.
The equipment used in Alier’s project is an EP-3000 separator. It is fed with plastic sheets and waste. As an example, the ECOPACK separator can separate the following types of polyethylene. See incoming product and possible separations:
MACHINE VISION FOR MATERIAL SEPARATION
The accuracy of the ECOPACK is achieved thanks to the hyper-spectral machine vision technology and high-speed data processing that PICVISA uses in its equipment. In addition, another value of the ECOPACK is the wide variety of configurations that this equipment has for different sorting tasks and conditions of the input material. In this project, the equipment was required for sorting PE but, because of the flexibility of multispectral vision, ECOPACK could be configured for quick changes in the classification of new materials.
