Case Study — Revimon Portugal
Revimon, a joint venture between TM Recicla and Verallia, is at the forefront of glass circularity in Portugal.
Revimon, a joint venture between TM Recicla and Verallia, is at the forefront of glass circularity in Portugal. At its recovery and sorting plant in Tocha, up to 25 tonnes of glass are processed per hour, sourced from green container selective collection, with an unwavering commitment to delivering furnace-ready quality.
With growing demands for high-purity recycled glass, separating contaminants such as ceramics, stones, and porcelain (KSP) from white and mixed-colour glass has become essential. Thanks to ECOGLASS’s advanced optical sorting technology, Revimon now efficiently classifies glass by colour and composition, achieving contaminant levels below 50 PPM and optimising materials for direct remelting in Verallia’s furnaces.
Through innovation and a fully integrated turnkey approach, PICVISA delivered a complete plant — from dual-hopper feeding and roller mill pre-treatment through to a five-unit ECOGLASS optical sorter cascade — producing both high-purity flint glass and clean mixed-colour glass. This is a step forward in the journey towards a more sustainable glass recycling industry.
