Types of waste
The ECOGLASS optical sorter automatically classifies and separates glass by composition (NIR), color (VIS) and/or shape (deep learning).
Glass is a material that, if recycled properly, can be reused indefinitely without losing quality or purity. Glass recycling saves between 25% and 32% of the energy used to produce new glass and reduces the CO2 footprint. That's why it's important to recycle glass through automated sorting processes that guarantee greater efficiency and precision in the separation of different types of glass.
The design of an adequate process to clean glass of contaminants is an added value that PICVISA provides together with the separation of glass by colors. The glass industry has very strict quality standards that must be met — and that's where ECOGLASS comes in.
